KM  was Karalee Bergsma’s Design-A-Line project. Below is more information behind the inspiration and demographic. 

When thinking about a demographic I consider the gender, the age, their salary, type of job, interests, and hobbies. Therefore, my consumers will consist of a wide range of mid 20’s to early 30’s, and I will be mainly focusing on women.

The inspiration I found myself falling towards was the comeback of the 90’s. The 90’s was defined by a return to minimalist fashion contrasted to the more elaborate and flashy trends of the 1980’s. However, the popularity of grunge and alternative rock music helped bring the simple, unkempt grunge look into the mainstream by 1994. Women of the 90′ s were adventurous, fearful, and unique as I hope by producing edgy and different statement pieces, to push the boundaries of what is accented as the norm or status quo.
